Latest News and ResultsRoyal Windsor Horse Show - Top Score Finals 2010 ( May 14, 2010)
Royal Wood members Simon Crowley and Chloe Spooner were lucky enough to qualify for the AmTrust Equine Unaffiliated Show Jumping Championships at the Royal Windsor Horse Show. The winners of the competition would win an all expenses paid trip to Kentucky to see the World Equestrian games.
On Friday 14th May 2010 the Senior Intermediate competition took place. Simon was drawn 19th to jump. Simon's horse Cartouch was slightly overwhelmed with the experience of the massive arena's and crowds and although jumped a brilliant round, he was very strong. Simon still managed to score a very credible 1,100 points and cleared the Joker fence twice. The final results meant Simon and Cartouch came 11th and just out of the placings.
Saturday 15th May 2010 saw the Junior Novice Show Jumping competition. Chloe and her pony Mirrival were also drawn 19th in the running order. Chloe watched others go before her in much anticipation. I think everyone spectating would agree the competition was very fierce with Chloe and her 14.2hh pony having to compete against some VERY quick and much smaller ponies! Chloe's pony jumped very well but unfortunately she did have two fences down which meant Chloe had to think quickly to change her course on route! She did very well in the circumstances and was just outside placing for the day.
We would like to congratulate both of our members for qualifying and representing our riding club at the Royal Windsor Horse Show. Click here to return to the News and Results page
